Ombre!

Another trend that I am really digging is the ombre nail! I especially love this chocolatey-nude chanel look
They are gorgeous and I am dying to try this style. Since I am such a bargain shopper, I have been keeping my eyes open for new nail colors that are affordable AND adorable. I rarely spend more than $2.00 on a color unless it's one that I am really wanting. If you don't mind spending a bit more, I would reccomend Essie nail color in basically any color (pink, purple, blue, brown, etc.) because they have at least 10 shades of each color varying from light to dark which is exactly what the ombre look is about. For me, I love N.Y.C. Nail Color and Wet n Wild! And I am dying to dry Elf's nail colors because I have heard they are fantastic, however I have yet to find them in stores and I am not sure if I want to pay shipping to buy them online.

Products I Love!

I am always looking for a good deal when it comes to beauty products. Thats why I love Elf Products so much! I have found most of their makeup and brushes to be just as good if not better than the more expensive brands. These are some of my favorite products:
Pink Lemonade Essentials All Over Color Stick in Pink Lemonade This product is absolutely amazing! I use it as a creme blush mostly but it can also be used as a shimmery lip color.

Eyelid PrimerEssentials Eyelid Primer in #7501 While it is not the best primer out there, it is extremely comparable considering it's $1 price tag!

Total Face BrushEssentials Total Face Brush #1804 My favorite Elf Products are their brushes. Especially this one! It is definetly the best face brush I have EVER used.

Essentials Matte Finisher Clear Nail Polish I absolutely love this product. My favorite thing to use it on is a steel nail color for an awesome rocker vibe.

Rainbow Bright!

Am I the only one who is totally digging Lauren Conrad's new rainbow locks?

While I love this look, I am totally not ready to commit to that yet. Not only am I unsure about the colors, but I am not quite ready to bleach my auburn locks. When applying such bright colors, you first have to pull all the color out of the hair if your not a natural blonde like Lauren. Hot Topic offers a simple, fun way to try this look without committing.
I picked up their Color Fiend Temporary Comb in Color in HOT PINK, DEEP PURPLE, AND ELECTRIC BLUE! They are $1.99 each and contain 2 packets of color and a small comb. I'll post pictures when I try it later this week!

Out with the old,

In with the new! I got my white tips acrylics done about three weeks ago and they were starting to grow out. They got so long that I could barely type or text. Since I am attempting to "learn the value of a dollar" I decided not to get them filled or get a new set, but to take matters into my own hands... Literally! We have a drummel file that I used to file all my nails down about a 1/5 of an inch or so. After that, I used just a normal hand file to even the edges out and make sure the corners weren't too sharp. Next I painted them with one coat of Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri Nail Color in Lively Lilac. After letting that dry, I painted on silver tips using one of my dollar-store finds, L.A. COLORS Art Deco Nail Art Lacquer in Silver! Then I painted it with a top coat and voila! You can use any color combo you want and it's a great way to put your own unique spin on acrylics that your not quite ready to get rid of.
